ITEA Test Instrumentation Workshop

May 14, 2024 - May 16, 2024
Las Vegas, NV

Hosted by the International Test and Evaluation Association (ITEA), the 27th annual Test Instrumentation Workshop will focus on testing beyond line of sight offering unique challenges and opportunities. This year's event will take place in Las Vegas, NV, and will "support the need to be alert and aware of all technological developments that may have an impact on our test and evaluation operations." The flight test community will gather from May 14-16, 2024, to participate in discussions, tutorials, and technical sessions addressing the problems faced in today's constrained test and evaluation environments.

Curtiss-Wright (booth #5) will showcase data acquisition, recording, and RF systems that balance smaller footprints without compromising on functionality, flexibility, or reliable performance in harsh environments.

This year's Workshop will feature a Hands-on-Lab illustrating "a holistic journey through the entire flight test process" and feature demonstrations representing seven different phases of flight test. Curtiss-Wright solutions will be featured and shared at a later date.

Rugged Instrumentation Solutions for Applications with Limited Space

For many aircraft, there is sufficient space to place data acquisition units (DAU), recorders, and transmitters in a dedicated instrumentation rack and/or throughout the aircraft. However, there are several aircraft with a very limited amount of space available to install any hardware. This is particularly true for platforms such as missiles and smaller UAVs, but is also the case for post-production aircraft, especially military jets, and smaller rotorcraft. This white paper examines the challenges and solutions for implementing a compact data acquisition package, focusing on missiles, and proposes a modular solution to best meet tight space and installation time requirements without compromising system flexibility.
