Curtiss-Wright Adds OPTASKLINK, Airspace Control Order, and KML Processing Support to its HUNTR Multi-Link TDL Gateway

TCG HUNTR

ASHBURN, Va. – December 19, 2024 – Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions Division has expanded the capabilities of its industry-leading TCG HUNTR™ Multi-Link TDL Hub and Network Translator intelligent translation gateway software with support for additional message types used by the U.S. and NATO nations, including automated OPTASKLINK, Airspace Control Order (ACO), and KML processing. What’s more, in addition to being industry’s leading TDL gateway that supports the latest Cooperative Electronic Support Measure Operations (CESMO) standard for electronic warfare operations, HUNTR now also features built-in capability for experimental CESMO features. Before HUNTR, users of legacy TDL gateways had to contend with incomplete and cumbersome implementations that required expert operators and non-intuitive, real-time control. To eliminate these challenges and simplify the TDL gateway user experience, HUNTR uniquely processes and translates multiple, incompatible TDLs into a single intuitive software gateway.

Proven in on-going 24/7 operations, HUNTR is optimized to reduce memory, CPU, and storage requirements. It raises usability to a new level by clearly and concisely indicating connectivity, information flow, filtering, and mission management data. HUNTR enables the operator to quickly and dynamically add or remove TDLs and manage data flow between the links. HUNTR’s easy-to-use graphical user interface is designed for touchscreen or keyboard-and-mouse operation with an ultra-simple “green-good-red-bad” feedback scheme. It also supports the rapid identification of terminal/radio operational status, routing errors, and other areas in need of attention.

“We continue to expand and enhance our industry-leading, field-proven HUNTR TDL gateway with unique features that make it an unmatched solution for mission-critical applications,” said Brian Perry, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions Division. “In response to customer requests, we’ve added support for automated OPTASKLINK, ACO, KML processing, and the latest CESMO standard. Curtiss-Wright is committed to continually updating HUNTR to provide the warfighter with the most reliable, fully featured and easy to use TDL gateway available.”

TDL Hub and Network Translator

HUNTR is a patented intelligent transaction gateway for multiple tactical data links. It has been designed from the ground up as an operator-first routing and transaction application with a focus on simple, easy-to-understand graphical feedback. Its combination of extreme simplicity and automation delivers fast and easy access to relevant TDL data in airborne, land, and sea-based environments that military organizations demand. Even better, it does it all with minimal personnel, minimal training, and almost no multi-TDL expertise required. HUNTR supports automatic routing, forwarding, and translation of a wide range of TDL message types, including Link 16 J-Series, VMF K-Series, Cursor on Target (CoT), CESMO, GPS, SADL, JREAP-A, JREAP-C, and Serial-J.

In addition, HUNTR automates the processing and translation of multiple, simultaneous Digitally-Aided Close Air Support (DACAS) missions between ground JTAC kits equipped with VMF or CoT radios and air/land/sea Link 16 assets. It automatically converts VMF 9-lines into multiple Link 16 messages and automatically updates and maintains Link 16 PPLI and surveillance tracks and command and control (C2) messages. With push-button start up and fully automated TDL operation, including radio configuration and management, HUNTR is fully operational within seconds with no expert input required.

HUNTR uses patented intelligent filtering, a powerful tool for controlling data flow in cases where the sending and receiving tactical data links have disparities in information capacity or where information overload is a concern. Routing and forwarding are performed in accordance with applicable US MIL-STD and NATO STANAG standards as well as industry and military best-practices.
