PacStar Awarded Patent for IQ-Core Crypto Manager Encryption Management and Setup Software

PacStar’s Continued Innovation in Taming Complexity in Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) and PKI Enabled Systems Recognized by US Patent Office

PORTLAND, Ore. Nov 19, 2019 –PacStar®, a leading developer and supplier of advanced communications solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), today announced that it has been awarded US Patent Number 10,469,268 for its invention in management and setup of network encryption systems embodied in PacStar IQ-Core® Crypto Manager using Public Key Infrastructure – including hybrid systems with VPN gateways and mobile devices.

This technology invention resulted from PacStar’s early and continued significant investment in development of tactical systems designed to meet the security and configuration requirements of the National Security Agency (NSA) Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) program, which enables DoD and Federal organizations to transmit classified information using commercial encryption components.

To meet CSfC data-in-transit encryption requirements for classified networks, defense, federal, and coalition partner communications systems a communications system must include PKI-enabled infrastructure, which is complex to set up and operate. In addition, CSfC requirements include dual layers of PKI and encryption, provided by different vendors or platforms, further adding to system complexity. IQ-Core Crypto Manager reduces complexity by managing those systems through a single user interface. Learn more about PacStar CSfC solutions.

“We’re pleased the US Patent Office recognized the novelty of our invention, reflecting the level of creativity and innovation from our technology teams,” said Charlie Kawasaki, chief technical officer, PacStar. “This recognition serves to further inspire us to advance the state of the art in software management, and in CSfC specifically, keeping us in the lead for CSfC solutions.”

US Patent Number 10,469,268 joins an extensive family of PacStar patents covering mobile deployable networking and communications, mechanical and electrical engineering, thermal management, and software management. Our broad family of patents recognizes inventions starting in 2006, and continues to grow with continual stream of multiple patents pending and in development.
