Rugged, lightweight, compact RVG-SA1 12x12 analog video cross point switch supports up to 4 RGBHV external video ports and 4 EDID computer display ports
ASHBURN, Va. – February 15, 2017 – Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division today expanded its Rugged Video Gateway (RVG) family of video management solutions with the introduction of the new compact and stackable RVG-SA1 Analog Video Switch. Traditional video switch products can be inflexible, bulky, and difficult to integrate. Maximum flexibility in the smallest footprint can be achieved with a configurable crosspoint switch. The RVG-SA1 is a truly non-blocking crosspoint switch, manageable over RS422 and CAN that can be rapidly and easily reconfigured to support different equipment and missions. It enables system designers to quickly and easily route the platform's video sources. Designed to address increasing requirements for video switching requirements on smaller and more space-constrained air and ground vehicles, the size, weight and power (SWaP)-optimized RVG-SA1 enables system integrators to make the most effective use of video data generated by on-platform cameras and displays without requiring additional space and weight. The RVG-SA1 is ideal for deploying effective video management and distribution for airborne and ground vehicle applications.
The RVG-SA1’s analog crossbar functionality makes it easy to route any of the unit’s 12 analog video inputs to any of its 12 outputs. It also implements a digital crossbar that enables any of its 8 digital inputs to route to any of its 8 digital outputs to support HSYNC and VSYNC connectivity for four PC-style analog video channels. In addition, the RVG-SA1 provides four separate EDID interfaces and enables the emulation of a computer display. The unit can be configured “on the fly” via external RS-422 and CAN control interfaces. It can also be configured statically to support specific missions.
