ASHBURN, Va. – January 19, 2018 -- Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division today extended its congratulations to the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Limited (COMAC) on the successful first flight of the C919-102 narrow body passenger jet. The new narrow body jet had its first flight on December 16, 2017. Curtiss-Wright’s Teletronics (TTC) system-based flight test instrumentation (FTI) technology, including enhanced and miniature network data acquisition units, multi-port gigabit Ethernet airborne switches, network-to-PCM gateways, solid-state data recorders, and airborne high definition cameras, was used during the flight to collect test data to enable aircraft type flight certification. A TTC Customer Support team was present at Shanghai Pudong International airport to provide support for aircraft wiring and FTI check out prior to the historic flight.
"We congratulate COMAC on the historic first flight of China’s important new C919-102 passenger jet,” said Lynn Bamford, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Defense Solutions division. “We are very proud to support this exciting new aircraft with our industry leading flight test instrumentation system products during the flight certification testing process.”
