Curtiss-Wright Debuts Unique Download Station that Speeds the Transfer of ISR Data to PCs for Post-Mission Analysis

New FSM-C2X download station supports up to 4x 2TB data modules for simultaneous transfer to PC via USB

ASHBURN, Va. – May 25, 2017 – Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division today announced the new FSM-C2X Download Station, an innovative solution for rapidly and simultaneously downloading high-density ISR data to ground station PCs for post-mission analysis. The FSM-C2X Download Station uniquely enables users to rapidly transfer up to 8TB of data via standard USB connections. As sensors proliferate onboard air, ground, and maritime platforms, and the quantity of data being captured for post-mission analysis grows exponentially, users are faced with the challenge of capturing the recorded data as quickly as possible so that the platform can begin its next mission as soon as possible. Designed for use with Curtiss-Wright’s popular Compact Network Storage 4-slot (CNS4) Data Recorder, the FSM-C2X Download Station supports up to four (4) of the CNS4’s rugged, removable FSM-C2X flash storage modules, each of which serves as a 2 TB solid-state disk (SSD).

Helping to reduce the time between mission deployments, the download station speeds the transfer of large amounts of data captured during a mission by the sensors onboard platforms such as manned and unmanned rotorcraft & fixed-wing aircraft, ground vehicles, and UUVs, making it quickly available for post-mission and analysis. The FMS-C2X modules are easily and quickly removed in seconds from the CNS4 data recorder through the use of tool-less wedge locks. The FSM-C2X Download Station is ideal for use in ISR applications such as multi-sensor data recording, unmanned vehicle recording, and situational awareness.

About the CNS4 Data Recorder

The CNS4 data recorder is a convection-cooled, high-speed Serial FPDP data recorder.  It is capable of absorbing 8 channels of 200MB/sec Serial FPDP streams for a total of 1.6GB/s. This solution, designed for optimal performance in harsh environments, is ideal for recording critical sensor data without stopping or pausing. The FSM-C2X Download Station is designed for use with the CNS4 recorder when configured with four FSM-C2X Flash Storage Modules.
