Serial FPDP HDL
A serial FPDP HDL is available in-source or ported to specific host platforms under the FusionXF suite. The serial FPDP IP supports data rates of up to 2.5Gbps per channel. The IP is suitable for Xilinx Virtex-5 and Virtex-6 platforms. Contact Curtiss-Wright for alternative platforms. Licensing is on a per-project, per-site basis. The serial FPDP HDL supports the following product:
XMC-FPGA05F Virtex-5 XMC/PMC. This product combines data processing and I/O in a single module and is available in three formats: PMC only, XMC only or a combined PMC/XMC format. To minimize data bottlenecks, Curtiss-Wright has closely aligned the XMC-FPGA05F to PCI Express, PCI, front panel I/O and P16/P14 digital I/O. The module is capable of facilitating an array of tasks that include sensor I/O, data recording and linking systems in real-time. In addition, it can be employed to implement data encryption, a network processor or custom protocols. The module's four banks of DDR2 SDRAM may be used, as required, for data processing or buffering.
The XMC-FPGA05F FPGA PMC/XMC is user-programmable, fitted with a Xilinx Virtex-5 SX95T FPGA. To promote high-performance signal processing, Curtiss-Wright has optimized the FPGA for a high ratio of DSP blocks to standard logic blocks.
Each of the module's fiber-optic transceivers is directly driven by an FPGA RocketIO high-speed serial (HSS) link, which provides the developer full control over the fiber-optic data protocol. Designed for optimal flexibility, the XMC-FPGA05F Virtex-5 FPGA XMC/PMC enables the simultaneous use of different protocols on different channels, such as Serial FPDP (sFPDP) and Aurora.
