MPMC-934x Rugged 3U 4-slot Mission Computer
The Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions MPMC-934x Mission Computer family of 3U 4-slot systems are leading edge, flexible and rugged processing systems that can be readily configured to meet the needs of any military or aerospace requirement, from benign laboratory to harsh deployed ground vehicle environments. This packaged Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution can greatly reduce up-front development costs. Through achieving economies of scale in production, this system can reduce recurring costs while meeting the I/O, performance and environmental requirements of the program.
The MPMC-934x uses advanced packaging techniques to provide the processing power of up to four single board computers (SBCs) in a rugged enclosure that measures a compact 665 cubic inches, yet is able to operate and survive external air temperatures of 49 to 60°C using only natural convection. This enables system designers to implement and deploy a highly capable processing system without the need for fans, coldplates, vehicle supplied air, liquid or other supplied resources.
The MPMC-934x is a rugged computing system designed to fill multiple roles in air and land vehicles. It is a packaged COTS solution that can greatly reduce up-front development costs. Through achieving economies of scale in production, this system can reduce recurring costs while meeting the I/O, performance and environmental requirements of the program.
The MPMC-934x is a 4-slot 3U OpenVPX system that supports up to four SBCs or a mix of SBCs and I/O modules (or mezzanine carrier cards), depending on the processing or I/O requirements of the program. The enclosure is a rugged natural convection-cooled chassis, designed for reliable operation in harsh environments in accordance with the MIL-STD-810 standards.
