The KAD/ADC/008 is a monitor for 3-phase power lines. It measures 40 parameters associated with 3-phase power lines as follows:

  • maximum, minimum, amplitude, root-mean-square and average (5x6=30 parameters)
  • active, apparent power and their ratio (3 × 3 = 9 parameters)
  • period of the VOLTAGE(0) = 1 parameter

The KAD/ADC/008 has a programmable gain amplifier and analog-to-digital converter and a 16,384-point conversion table for each of the six channels. All six channels are sampled simultaneously at 125ksps.

The algorithm waits for a positive-going-zero crossing on channel 0 and resets the maximum/minimum registers for each channel and the accumulators for the various averages. The algorithm ends on a positive-going-zero-crossing after at least 50ms. The processing algorithm is a hard-wired state machine with no micro-code or forbidden states.

Features

  • Three voltage and three current single ended input channels

  • 16-bit simultaneous sampling on each channel
  • Measures voltage, current, RMS active power, and RMS apparent power

Applications

  • Three-phase power monitoring
