KAD/CBM/107 4 Channel CAN bus Monitor
The KAD/CBM/107 is a four-channel CAN bus monitor which combines the capabilities of a coherent message parser with the flexibility of an iNET-X packetizer on a single module.
The parser coherently parses up to 126 messages per bus and their associated time and status tags. As a message is read, a parser information word indicates the status of the data - a stale bit indicates that the message was read before and a skipped bit indicates the buffer was overwritten prior to being read. The timestamp records the microsecond time of the start-of-frame bit indication. Message counters count how many messages are received on each bus and of each parsed type. Every field from each received CAN message can be captured and packetized with other messages in a packetizer buffer. The packetizer contents can be assembled into Ethernet frames by an iNET-X controller or transmitter, for example, a KAD/BCU/140, or for transmission over Ethernet.
The KAD/CBM/107 can generate either a single packet stream per input bus or packetize messages from all the active busses into a single packet stream. In either case, a programmable timeout ensures that smaller packets are generated even during periods of low activity on the bus, thereby allowing real-time analysis and processing of acquired messages. When there is no traffic, no packets are generated.
The report word has bits indicating that an error occurred and on which bus it occurred.
Aerospace Instrumentation Brochure
Modern aerospace instrumentation systems can be highly complex, and it can be difficult to know how to meet program needs. It’s not unusual for requirements to change during a campaign and cause significant delays, and data must be captured reliably no matter what – otherwise expensive additional flights will be needed or months of program data could be lost. Read our brochure to learn how you can reduce your risk with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions.
