The VEX-112S-1 card is a 12 channel, programmable, bi-polar, constant voltage, intrinsically safe, excitation card. Programmable outputs include 0V, ±2.5V, ±5V, ±7.5V, ±10V and ±28V settable in groups of two with an output accuracy of ±0.15 percent maximum over the operating temperature range. Each output can provide up to 25 mA current and is short circuit protected.
The VEX-112S-1 can be used in all nDAU-20xx/WDAU-20XX/ CDAU-20XX/EDAU-20XX series of data acquisition units.
To provide intrinsic safety, the excitation is limited to 34 mA. There is also a secondary, constant current circuit that will limit the current to 38 mA if the primary current limit should fail. The voltage sense and transistor drive lines have a resistor in series to limit the maximum possible current output to 8 mA during a fault condition.
