The GTS/IPC/002 may be deployed as either a 19 inch rackmount unit, or a freestanding unit, by removing the mounting lugs for use in 19 inch rack systems. In freestanding mode, the GTS/IPC/002 may be used in either horizontal or vertical orientations.
Drive bays and cooling fans are mounted behind hinged panels on the front. Two continuously operating cooling fans pass air directly onto the section of the GTS/IPC/002 containing the processor, COMMs, and I/O cards. The air is subsequently extracted via cooling vents on the top of the unit. Particular attention has been paid to the ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC) performance of the air intake and outlet holes to ensure compliance with the relevant specifications.
