The Sentinel is a small ruggedized flexible data acquisition system for accurate measurement of aircraft parameters. It can be used to locally monitor the health of key aircraft systems. It acquires measurements from sensors and aggregates this data into a 100 Mbps Ethernet output stream which can be sent to an existing data collector/recorder on the aircraft. The standard set of inputs are PT-100 temperature, 5V pressure or analog and GND/Open discretes.
The unit is qualified to DO-160 for harsh environments (e.g. high altitude, extreme shock and vibration, extended temperatures, humidity, water exposure, fluids exposure, EMC, voltage spikes, indirect lightning, EMC etc.).
The Sentinel is based on the proven Acra KAM-500 family and therefore the customer may request a wide range of different input types (analog, resolver, bus etc.) and also different output types such as ARINC-429, CANBus etc. All acquisition functions are designed using high reliability FPGA based logic in accordance with DO-254 processes. Optionally a processing module can be included which can be used to selectively transmit processed data etc.
