Curtiss-Wright rugged mission displays offer a unique combination of new technology, including optically-bonded glass, LED backlighting, and a rich feature set including an embedded processor, external video input capability, and full touchscreen operation.

The GVDU4310-000 17.3” mission display addresses a wide variety of applications and is equally capable on ground, airborne, and naval platforms. Fully qualified to established environmental standards, it provides unparalleled flexibility where size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) are primary considerations and where embedded processing and a high-definition high-brightness display are required. The display provides a full set of external interfaces, including Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), USB 2.0, serial interfaces, and GPIO.

The display has two 3G-SDI inputs and supports a range of dual image display formats: full-screen, picture-in-picture, and side-by-side. It is designed to integrate with Curtiss-Wright video switches and recorders in an integrated video management system (VMS). The display allows simple custom code to define every aspect of its operation. This includes the ability to define ‘soft’ keys within the display area activated by the touchscreen to control external VMS elements and customer equipment. The GVDU4310 has multiple control interfaces to communicate with peripheral equipment, including USB, CAN bus, and RS-232.

The display features an optically bonded PCAP touchscreen with multi-touch capability and single-touch operation when wet. It has 28 illuminated function keys arranged around the LCD to GVA spec DEF STAN 23-0. The LCD has a powerful 1000 cd/m2 backlight for sunlight readability, but in night mode, it may be dimmed down to 0.1 cd/m2 to avoid dazzle. The display operates from a single MIL-STD-1275Ecompliant 28V power supply and contains a built-in automated heater to ensure low-temperature functionality.
