Enable Effective Mission Execution With Real-Time Intelligence, Secure Communications, and Enhanced Situational Awareness

A specialized tactical command unit had long relied on specialized SFF hardware, with separate hardware for Haivision Kraken managing video processing and steaming and other essential applications for mission planning and secure communications. This fragmented system created significant logistical and management challenges, including large physical footprints, excessive power consumption, and complicated maintenance.

Haivision proposed a solution to consolidate these separate systems onto a single hardware platform designed to minimize the deployment footprint while maintaining SWaP efficiency. The new platform would run Kraken and the other applications, ensuring functionality was preserved without increasing system complexity. The solution aimed to simplify hardware management and enable faster updates.

However, the transition posed several hurdles, including ensuring that Kraken’s performance was not impacted, integrating diverse applications, and addressing security and reliability concerns. The new solution promised a more efficient, scalable, and secure system, with a gradual transition plan to minimize disruption and improve overall operational readiness.
