Enabling Secure, Scalable Data Storage for UAV Operations

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are critical to modern military operations, supporting intelligence gathering, surveillance, reconnaissance, and long-endurance missions.

These platforms must capture, store, and protect sensitive data in real-time despite the severe size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) constraints. For one UAV developer, meeting program requirements meant finding a secure network attached storage (NAS) solution with zero development time, mission-ready encryption, and reliable, scalable centralized storage—even under harsh conditions.

The Challenge

The UAV developer needed a rugged, National Security Agency (NSA)-approved NAS solution that could be deployed without custom engineering.
