This paper describes the setup and operation of a typical SSR/CHS/00x solid-state recorder with integrated data acquisition. The SSR/CHS/00x and the installed plug-in user modules are configured using Recorder Studio 3. Based on the user configuration, an optimal packetization strategy for storing data in Ethernet frames is determined. Both the SSR/CHS/00x configuration and the packetization strategy are described using XidML metadata language. This paper discusses the following topics:
