Power Architecture

Power Architecture processors are the most widely used RISC architecture-based microprocessors for defense and aerospace applications. It is most often the choice for deterministic performance in real-time processing systems as well as the dominant choice for safety certification. NXP (formally Freescale) offers the broadest portfolio of single, dual and multicore processors built on Power Architecture technology, providing exceptional performance and superb reliability. NXP Power Architecture processors support guaranteed lifecycles of 15 yrs and have a proven track record for longevity of supply and support. This long lifecycle is ideal for programs with a long production requirements that cannot afford DMS issues or repeated technology insertions.

Intel

With the widest range of processors in commercial, defense, medical, transportation and industrial automation markets, Intel processors deliver the highest performance, enhanced on-chip graphics and media support, and built-in security capabilities. Intel’s Tick-Tock technology cadence, which alternates microarchitecture advancements with power saving die geometry shrinkage, has produced continuous performance improvements with reliable, scalable processing options available to suppliers of Single Board Computers (SBCs) and DSP engines for use in embedded control, processing, and compute-intensive applications.

GPU

A GPU complements a processor to offer display graphics or can serve as a math/vector acceleration engine. As a display processor, a GPU supports real-time graphics using OpenGL and media codecs such as MPEG and H.254, and can drive multiple displays simultaneously. When used as a math/vector accelerator, a GPU can perform floating-point calculations using hundreds or thousands of parallel floating-point units via the use of OpenCL and CUDA software frameworks. In data-intensive applications, such as imaging enhancement and mosaicking, GPUs can stitch together input from multiple sensors or process radar data faster than general purpose CPUs.

FPGA

FPGA devices are ideal for parallel processing of DSP algorithms. Featuring large amounts of configurable I/O and the ability to reconfigure the functionality of the internal logic cells, block ram, and DSP blocks, FPGAs provide a high degree of flexibility. This enables the design to be adapted and optimized for specific applications. FPGA products can enable processing of algorithms that need additional external memory capacity, support of front end ADC/DAC digital converters, or high-speed serial interfaces for sensor processing or interconnection to other FPGA modules.
