Curtiss-Wright offers Power Architecture processing modules in 3U, 6U, and mezzanine form factors meeting open industry standards such as OpenVPX, VME, VPX, cPCI and XMC. They are supported by a range of Operating Systems, Board Support Packages (BSPs), Signal & Data Processing Libraries, Shared Memory Drivers for high-speed board-to-board communications. Many of Curtiss-Wright's Rugged Mission Computers incorporate Power Architecture processors.

SWaP-Optimized for Rugged Deployed Platforms

Power Architecture processing modules from Curtiss-Wright combine multi-core processing capabilities, ECC protected memory subsystems, and high-speed I/O, all in embedded form factors. Curtiss-Wright’s innovative thermal management designs at the subsystem level have enabled us to reliably integrate Power Architecture processors across extended temperature ranges using advanced cooling methods, resulting in reliable and deterministic non-throttling performance even at high operational temperatures. This, combined with NXP’s long life, make Power Architecture attractive for those programs with a long deployment requirements.
 

Picking the Right Processor for the Application

QorIQ T-series

The QorIQ T-series family of processors provides the embedded computing industry’s coveted deterministic performance in an Altivec-enabled, multi-core, small form factor, power efficient footprint. The T-series benefits from NXP’s Trust Architecture 2.0, allowing the end user peace of mind that their system and valuable data is protected.

Curtiss-Wright uses the T2080 and T4160 processors in our SBCs. The P-series of processors will be available in our safety certifiable modules.

QorIQ P-series

The QorIQ P-series family of processors delivers NXP’s legendary deterministic performance in a multi-core, low power envelope for SWaP-constrained applications. The P-series benefits from NXP’s Trust Architecture 1.0, allowing the end user peace of mind that their system and valuable data is protected.

Curtiss-Wright uses the P2020, P4040/4080 and P5010/5020 in our SBCs. The P-series of processors are used in our safety certifiable modules.

MPCxxxx

The MPC7xxx and MPC8xxx family of processors are general-purpose processors based on the e600 core. These processors are ideal for use in general purpose processing in embedded, aerospace and defense applications and include an AltiVec technology engine, enabling a dramatic acceleration in performance-driven, high-bandwidth embedded computing applications.

Curtiss-Wright uses the MPC7447A, 7448 and MP8640/1 in our SBCs.
