Curtiss-Wright Adds Link 22 Support to its Broad Range of Tactical Data Link Verification, Training and Simulation Solutions
The new Link 22 capability seamlessly integrates with Curtis-Wright TCG TDL systems, including BOSS, GTS, and LinkPRO, enabling simultaneous Link 22, Link 16, Link 11, VMF, SADL and JREAP operations
INTERNATIONAL DATA LINK SYMPOSIUM (IDLS 2022), HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA (Booth #1) – NOVEMBER 8, 2022 – Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division, a trusted, proven supplier of tactical data link (TDL) software and hardware solutions, has announced Link 22 support for its proven suite of TDL solutions to deliver greater interoperability and capability to the U.S. military and coalition partners. Link 22 is a NATO secure digital radio system that provides beyond-line-of-sight communications in the HF and UHF bands. The new Link 22 capability is now available with Curtiss-Wright’s TCG LinkPRO Tactical Data Link Processing Software, TCG Ground Tactical Data Link System (GTS), and TCG Battlefield Operations Support System (BOSS) TDL testing and platform integration solution. Curtiss-Wright products, widely used for verification, training, and simulation of TDL integrations, as well as in operational deployments, now provides support for Link 22, Link 16, VMF, and Link 11 tactical data links. The addition of Link 22 support to the TCG product line eliminates the need for customers to maintain separate systems for TDL certification programs or to learn multiple user interfaces. At IDLS, Curtiss-Wright will demonstrate the new Link 22 capabilities and interoperability, as well as updates to current tactical data links. These demonstrations will take place each day of the conference, both in the main room at the Curtiss-Wright booth, and in the Military Demonstration area.
“We are very excited to bring Link 22 support across our tactical data link product family, which comprises the industry’s gold standard platform for TDL verification, training and simulation,” said Chris Wiltsey, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions. “We are seeing greatly increased interest in Link 22 TDL capabilities from the U.S. DoD and our allies. For our customers, the addition of Link 22 support means that the same superior user interface they’ve come to trust can now be used to implement Link 22 integration programs. What’s more, for simulation applications, we are now offering our best-in-class simulation and training tools to the Link 22 community.”
About TCG LinkPRO
Curtiss-Wright’s TCG LinkPRO Tactical Data Link Processing Software is a standards-based, high fidelity, software-only, multi-link TDL processing engine that improves tactical communications, reduces the time, risk, and expense of TDL integration, alleviates interoperability issues, and lowers lifecycle maintenance costs for military and prime contractors worldwide.
About TCG GTS
Curtiss-Wright’s TCG Ground Tactical Data Link System (GTS) is an affordable, interoperable, and combat-proven battlefield TDL system with comprehensive situational awareness (SA), command and control (C2), and non-command and control (non-C2) data link capabilities. TCG GTS is a suite of products that support multiple TDLs and communication protocols, including Link 22, Link 16, Link 11, VMF, SADL, JREAP-A, JREAP-C, SIMPLE, ADS-B, AIS, and DIS. TCG GTS is available in multiple, cost-effective configurations to allow for use in fixed and mobile command centers, deployed operations down-range, or anywhere a TDL capability is required. DOD-accredited, TCG GTS has full authority to operate when connected to the SIPRNET and is on the Air Force Approved Product List. TCG GTS can be the net time reference (NTR) and produce a training scenario with virtual assets, C2 functions, and friendly, hostile, and neutral participants. The simulation over-live capability provides active units with high fidelity, low-cost training system.
About TCG BOSS
Curtiss-Wright’s TCG Battlefield Operations Support System (BOSS) TDL testing and platform integration solution allows military end-users and prime contractors to verify that the TDL implementations being delivered on aircraft, ships, and other military platforms conform to Link 22, Link 16, Link 11, VMF, JREAP, SIMPLE, SADL, DIS, and related TDL standards and interface definitions. TCG BOSS is the worldwide standard for Link 16 testing. It is a powerful TDL network simulator and exerciser capable of creating a complete and highly realistic test environment, including virtual command and control (C2) assets, network-enabled weapons (NEW), targets, threats, and simulated network participants.
