Curtiss-Wright Facility Achieves AS9100 Rev. D Aerospace Supplier Certification
Advanced processes and procedures already in place enable Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions facility in Salt Lake City, Utah to earn certification to the latest international aerospace quality standard

ASHBURN, Va. – August 16, 2018 – Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division announced today that its facility located in Salt Lake City, Utah, has been certified to the AS9100 Rev. D industry-recognized, international aerospace, the standard of quality management. The AS9100 Rev. D certification provides Curtiss-Wright customers with confidence in the Company’s processes and procedures and the quality of the products that it designs and manufactures. In addition, this accomplishment ensures that customers of Curtiss-Wright have the ability to rapidly adapt to emerging industry changes. Curtiss-Wright’s Salt Lake City facility is a leading supplier of rugged Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) computing and IP networking subsystems for size, weight, and power (SWaP) constrained military, aerospace, and homeland defense applications. The rugged tactical mission processors, network routers, Ethernet switches developed at this facility, under the Parvus DuraCOR®, DuraMAR®, and DuraNET® product lines, provide highly reliable command, control, computing, and communication (C4) capabilities for situational awareness and mobile data processing onboard commercial and military airborne, ground vehicle, and naval platforms.

To achieve this stringent certification, Curtiss-Wright successfully underwent an audit and qualification process to demonstrate conformity to requirements concerning quality, safety, continuous improvement, risk management, project management and other key performance metrics. The scope of the Salt Lake City facility registration spanned AS9100 Rev. D, including ISO 9001:2015 for “the design, integration, production, and support of embedded computer, control and communication subsystems and boards for use in military, aerospace, homeland defense, transportation, and general industrial applications.”

Last year, Curtiss-Wright announced that its Ashburn, Va., Letchworth, U.K., and Ottawa, Canada facilities were among the first COTS vendors to receive this certification, essential for operating in the highly regulated Aviation, Space and Defense (ASD) sector. AS9100 Rev. D certification ensures Curtiss-Wright customers that the Company is better able to satisfy higher level, more demanding program requirements. It also reflects the strong relationships that the Company has established and maintains between its suppliers and supplier management.

“Thanks to strong processes and an ongoing commitment to customer satisfaction, Curtiss-Wright’s Salt Lake City facility joins the shortlist of companies to be certified to the AS9100 Rev. D aerospace supplier quality standard,” said Lynn Bamford, Senior Vice President, and General Manager, Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions division. “This successful audit validates processes that reduce the risk for our aerospace and defense customers, ensuring timely delivery of quality products that meet the world’s highest quality standards.”
