Introducing the Parvus DuraMAR 6300 Router video

The Parvus DuraMAR 6300 is the newest Cisco embedded router technology - the ESR 6300 - packaged in a military-grade enclosure with the traditional circular connectors and the dust and waterproof characteristics that you would expect for a product designed for military and aerospace. Supporting CNSA Next-Gen Encryption algorithms, VPN, firewall, secure boot, and other advanced security technologies, the DuraMAR 6300 is an ideal solution for size, weight and power (SWaP)-sensitive military and aerospace IP networking applications deploying secure network backbones at the tactical network edge (including airborne, ground, manned or unmanned vehicle, and sensor applications).

My name is Mike Southworth - I'm a Senior Product Manager for Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions and I'm here today introducing the Parvus DuraMAR 6300. This is the newest Cisco embedded router technology - the ESR 6300 - packaged in a military-grade enclosure with the traditional circular connectors and the dust and waterproof characteristics that you would expect for a product designed for military and aerospace. This is based on Cisco IOS XE technology which means it is something that the average IT professional can maintain and configure, which is a big advantage for defense integrators in terms of the cost to integrate and maintain this equipment.

This is a gigabit router that features six ethernet ports, 2 router, 4 switch ports designed to connect mission computers with the data links, and SATCOM modems that are found in ground vehicles and aircraft. And some of the diagrams you are seeing behind me - you can see where a router onboard a helicopter might be used to connect to ground equipment, so this is an inter-platform communication device used to secure the communications between these platforms. There are built-in cybersecurity provisions for encryption, for anti-tamper, for FIPS 140 validation and there's a number of certifications Cisco is going through at the moment.

This design is miniature in size, weighs merely 2 pounds and as you can see, fits in the palm of my hand. It is an ideal solution for jets, UAVs, ground vehicles, and other harsh environments that could take advantage of size-weight-power-optimized equipment. The technology features a lot of Cisco's best technology for the embedded marketplace that is rated for the extended temperatures and the conditions that are common for military and aerospace.

Curtiss-Wright is proud to be a Cisco solution technology integrator. We're a partner, where we package the embedded Cisco technology in a way and then qualify it through extensive mil-standard testing so that our customers have reliable, qualified solutions and this is something that we'll be sampling in the Q3 2020 timeframe with production in higher quantity to follow.
