The ABIM-429A is an ARINC-429 bus monitor which combines the capabilities of a coherent message parser with the flexibility of a packetizer and an error-detection function, on a single module. The parser parses up to 24,575 words and their associated time and status tags. Each message has a stale bit (word read before) and a skipped bit (buffer overwritten). Messages can be parsed based on their bus number, label, SDI and/or SSM fields.
Modern flight test and monitoring programs are looking for more data and more flexibility in how to acquire it. The ABIM-429A, and other ADAU bus monitors, are capable of collecting vast amounts of data, and filtering this data according to user configurations to optimize the data collected.
